Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again

I escorted my Mum to a funeral at the Crem this afternoon, and I was dreading it. It's amazing how things turn out. The man who'd died had four children and 11 grandchildren. One of those, 18 year-old Sarah, got up and sang "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again" from Phantom Of The Opera - there wasn't a dry eye in the house. It was incredibly moving and a privilege to listen to. Afterwards we were invited back to one of the poshest places in *Grimsby (*that's not saying a lot...) for the wake. I downed 3 small then spotted the lovely Sarah at the tea urn, so I went and had a few words, a and told her how talented I thought she was and hopefully she'll make a career out of it. She said she's at college studying music and already takes bookings.

I found the song on YouTube, with lyrics, and Sarah sounded not unlike this lady: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1LLtplpCW4o
