You can call me TC Posted Apr 30, 2009
We get a day off for very secular reasons in Germany - the day of reunification on 3 October. Unfortunately, this is not a day off work, if it happens to fall on a Saturday or Sunday. They think here that the idea of automatically having a holiday on a Monday is odd, but nice for the workers.
But then, we have 11 days holiday here (more in other parts of the country), the UK (England) has 8. Reference: http://www.qppstudio.net/publicholidays2009/uk___england.htm

We get 9 official holidays, but most places give Good Friday off as well, making 10. And if any of those fall on a Sat or Sun, we get the Monday off.
