so here it is. I'm about to go to w**k and tidy up some last issues for my old job and then start as a beancounter.
Not the job I applied for in May, that would have been fun, difficult, responsible etc etc and in a position that I think I've earned after so long slogging my guts out for the company.
But anyway. We'll see.
When I agreed to do it I spent several hours with the HR manager and the accounting manager discussing how I won't be involved in month end rubbish any more because I'm sick of it, and since I'm going to be the Letter of Credit controller, and SOX controller there's no need.
But because this has not been made clear to the accounts receiveables team, and because one of them (a part-timer after maternity leave) wants to e the A/R team leader, and because (I think) they are putting me in the old desk of the last person (most junior team memer) who left, it's going to be a very stressful time.
That and the fact that I really didn't want to leave the sales team, who blocked my appointment to the job I wanted because they "really need your vast experience"
Gits.
Wish me luck!!

Pretend you're Angelina Jolie and barge in, guns ablazing and letting them know you won' take no sh*t. You can pull it off, better than anyone. It's the only way.
(Says she who would fall over herself trying to please everyone and probably end up just at the old junior's desk chewing pencils.)

Good luck with it all.
I also wanted to say, at first I read the title as "bee encounter". Anyway, don't let them bug you!

As I suspected, what the rest of the team understand that I'm there to do and what I understand I'm there to do are two different things.
There's a team meeting tomorrow, so I'll prepare my slapping hand.

day off today, back tomorrow and I hope the lady who has been temporarily handling some of the work I will be doing is back from being sick and can show me something. Because so far it's boring...
and we have to discuss holidays that's going to be fun.
