Sho - employed again! Started conversation Dec 30, 2006
well, I've said it before, 2006 has been the worst year of my life. Christmas Eve was the worst day of my life...
I'm over the 'flu and just about over the Bronchitis - and now I have developed the flippin' runs.
and to cap it all... it's Saturday night (30th December) it's blowing a gale. And our bathroom window (Velux type thing) blew right off...
I used to subscribe to the "life isn't so bad when you consider the alternative" school of thought
but I can honestly say, that I have been considering the alternative recently.
Jeez - that's an admission I haven't made to anyone in RL. so can we keep it here?
(and I did think lots before posting that - but I think it helps, so sorry - pls unsub if it makes you uncomfortable)

I sincerely hope that 2007 will be a better year for both of you.
There's one thing about being at rock bottom. The only way you can go now is up.

*joins the general humbug-gery
I've been feeling really cr*p too. Then to cap things off, my brother ended up in hospital with serious heart problems. Mind you, that did rather put all the other stuff into perspective.

I had one of those years in 98, but things gradually got better and they will for you, Things can only get better (as the song says)

2006 was a real hard one for me too Sho. But luckily my antidepressant and therapy keep me boosted up reasonably well. And I have a new apartment to settle into this coming year. I have to make it my home now. I hope things take a turn for the better for you very soon. I worry for you.

oh please don't worry for me - I'm beginning to think everything is one huge cosmic joke (on me)
I wish all of you a peaceful new year, full of the things you wish yourselves

Hang on in there honey.
This is a very tough time of year when the weather's bleak, the days are short and everyone else seems to be having more fun than us.
Not to belittle how you're feeling though of course.
Sooo, on that note, I'm sending you dreams of lazing about on a tropical island, being waited on by and being whisked off by .
May you all be blessed with prosperity, good health and joy in the year to come.

Itsherage, lass. When I was in my early 40s I was mustering the bridges all along the way to work, wondering which one had the best surface to drive into.
Now I bike to work and only pass under one bridge, but I don't think I could get the speed up on my bike to crash into it.
For about the past ten years I've felt it's a losing battle, but now I'm resigned to it.
You'll get over it. Or learn to live with it.
Life isn't made in Hollywood. You have to make it like that. Only it's hard when half your life has gone and your illusions are hanging by their last threads, like your milk teeth did once.
Come on - you've got two sweet little girls with amazing careers ahead of them. Don't forget to live your own life while you're at it, though. (If anyone can help *me* with that one, I'll be happy to hear your suggestions)
. I'm not very good at cheering people up, especially if I think I can understand what's really going on. Been there. Want the teeshirt?

I had a good giggle at Post 15. You have to take these little flashes of cheerfulness as they come.
*wonders what the Italian for "double entendre" is*
