Lava lamps are, in fact, the ideal substitute for fish as they do not require feeding, filters, gravel, cleaning... ad nauseum. Also, you do not find the globules of wax belly-up in their tank for no good reason. Give me a lava lamp over fish any day.

SURELY A LAVA LAMP OVER FISH COULD BE DANGEROUS, IF THE LAMP WAS TO TAKE UPON IT'S SELF TO DEFY THE LAWS OF GRAVITY AND PLUNGE INTO WHATEVER RECEPTICLE THE FISH WERE RESIDING IN AT THE TIME, THIS COULD CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY TO BOTH PARTIES.
