They are supposed to be visible early in the evening (at least here in the US). I hope they are as visible for you all over there.

Thanks, Elektra
I am nipping out to my dining room patio doors but can't go out as it's too flippin' coldand biting wind
Am nice and toasty in my warm living room and good telly on tonight too
I've told Ian to watch out for them but don't know if he will remember and my sister is watching for them too
Have a great evening/night

Keep warm and toasty, sweetie, no celestial event is worth making yourself sick before Christmas. Besides, no doubt all the great astrophotographers will be out with their expensive equipment making their money shots! We'll see them tomorrow on the web.
I hope you get the chance to watch the meteor showers tonight!

Here's a photo of a gorgeous comet I found this morning, it's heading for the northern hemisphere and should be viewable next week near to Sirius, an excellent marker.

OK, you win--- are you Brits always so competitive? Every exchange has to have a leader board apparently. I do believe the colour picture with the meteorite falling AND the borealis takes the prize! I concede.

I would hope I'd win every astronomy prize going, but you may beat me at something else. I look forward to the next contest

I am glad you got some days off! Enjoy your holidays and thanks for the Christmas truce entry, I thought how it must have offered some respite to the guys who experienced such horrors in the trenches.
I hope you get the chance to watch the meteor showers tonight!

It's quite amazing how that worked out. I was inspired to write it, and it was on the FP less than a week later. Truly inspirational and quite astonishing. My paternal granddad (whom I never met) was in that war. We can only hope those poor souls had some solace in those dark days.
