You would not have said that forty years ago when all you had was Truman's Keg, Watney's Red Barrel, and Courage Keg (You needed courage to drink that crap!!!)
Now you have Youngs, Wadsworths, Fullers, Brakspeare, and the rest!!!
We are envious up here now!!!

Harveys (Sussex) is one of my favourites down here in the South. There are some excellent smaller breweries too. My current local brewery is Tongham, who brew a beer called T.E.A. Further west, Bath Ales is one to look out for.
I grew up near the Gales brewery, but that's closed now. You can still get the beer, but it's brewed by Fullers.

I do like southern beers. Unfortunately I live in the bit of Cheshire that is marked on the special secret brewers maps "Don't send any good beer here". A nearby pub keeps a good pint of (northern) Timmy Taylor's Landlord, and that's about it. If I want to drink good beer, I have to travel.
It's just not fair

I have to travel too hd!
To town, where we have a JD Wetherspoons with a dozen handpumps!!
Plus half a dozen other good pubs with handpumps, one of which serves ales from micro breweries only!
