Deaths - Truganini, purportedly the last full blood Tasmanian Aboriginal died in 1876.
Technology - the rubber tyre was patented in London by Robert Thompson in 1847 & the first fax machine (requiring a dedicated phone line) was shown by Xerox in 1964.
