A Conversation for Hogmanay - the Scottish New Year
Hogmanay Scottish?
Saints 76 Started conversation Dec 31, 2015
Just to point out that New Year's first footing used to go on especially in the North Of England. My Father born in Derby had tales of this from when he was young.
I think it has rather died out in England (first footing) and the Scottish side of my family say it's not very common even North of the Border.
I would advise if you go to Edinburgh for the celebrations, book your ticket in the street booths, as on line I got a hat and a badge, and stood in the street with people who paid less.
