Love RSP, never had it like this, though.
Where did you have it?
Sounds pretty much like the way Peking Duck is eaten, rolled in saucer-sized pancakes with Hoi Sin sauce, julienned cucumber & finely-shredded Spring Onions.

Singaporean version I think. Chinese food varies from country to country.
and yes, Peking duck is also eaten for its roasted skin, much like RSP, which could account for the similarity.
