how do i shrink journal entries?

is it possible to have the journal entries displayed in the common blog style of a title and first para with a 'read more' link at the bottom? is the simplest way to write a journal entry, put it into 'other conversations' and then repeat the first para, put it back in the journal and then put a link to the first write (now in other conversations)? but then the reply status would be all screwy...
any tips?

"No it does not work that way, you cn write Journals they are displayed on your Personal Space (the five most recent) you can remove them from display but you can not get a real abstract or shortened view.
Once an posting has been written you can not change it, nor replace it.
You can publish a list of your most recent Journals (titles or complete entries). "
