A Conversation for Second Cup Coffee
After the first cup

Momentary panic as I open my bleary eyes and see that it's 9:00 am.
"Oh my God, I am sleeping the day away." I take pause and reflect on the Memorial Day, Monday holiday.
Clarity of acceptance moves into my mind as I sip the first American style cup of coffee. "Ah, life is not so
bad, and I have much to be grateful for this holiday."
The second cup reminds me to catch up with my daughter who is beginning her first job as a chemical engineer in
Los Angeles. I begin to accept more of my blessings this day as the second cup warms my hands, and I am grateful
for the day and the opportunity to live my dreams and touch my passions. This second cup helps me find the words to
let my family know that they are important to me.
Life is good.
Don't leave the house!
