Coffee left me yesterday.
It's been looming for a while. The spark's gone, but only on her side. I love her and want her as much as I ever have, and I can't so much as say "goodnight, my love" because she doesn't want me to, and it really, really hurts.
I have had better days.

Titania - That would be diarch. From my Oxford Dictionary of English:
diarchy - government by two independent authorities (especially in India 1919-35).
It doesn't recognise "triarchy", but the Romans had several tetrarchies.

Thanks Bagpuss - I should have tried to think of 'double' instead of 'two', considering the 'mono' in 'monarch'.
When our financial system became unavailable this afternoon ('unable to concect to server') I *told our IT department it was urgent (in the middle of closing the books for August), I *told them the problem was most likely at our end, not the suppliers', I *told them that had been the case almost every time we've have that problem this year.
And yet, I was told 'everything looks OK from here, you'd better contakt the supplier'.
And guess what? The system had been up and running the whole time (I could see it for myself in the loggfile once we gained access again) and the problem *was at our end!
And because it took *hours to solve, I didn't leave the office until after 8 pm.
Hmph! Tomorrow I'm going to question if our IT department doesn't a) document the troubleshooting/solution for each case and b) never check the case history last time exactly the same thing happened?
*miffed*

And did our IT department even bother to tell us when the system was up and running again? Oh no, we found out by accident as we tried to gain access again and again and again.

Doh, today I got a call from the IT person that was assigned the case yesterday, who asked me what the finacial system supplier's tech guy had told me, so I told him and added 'he said he was going to call you next?'.
'Yeah, he did, but by then, I was on my way home.'
I was under the impression that I had made it perfectly clear that this case was URGENT - and he goes home? Instead of like.... making sure the case got solved or else handing the case over to the person on duty?
And first thing this morning, who came sneaking around our department? The financial head honcho, trying to get a sneak preview of the August result. Sneak preview only made possible by three persons working later than usual last night.

I'm thinking that the best course of action is to start a new conversation without scribing; we've been in this thread since 16 December of last year and the ashtrays are full.

Today is a good day. The last of my materials for making a new piece of LARP costume turned up in plenty of time to make it before the game, and a friend is coming over soon to do a photoshoot using me-in-character-costume as a model.
