No children, ergo, no grandchildren.

No grandchildren.
Today was A's 13th birthday. She went on her first horse ride as one of her presents from me, the other being that at rode too. I dislike large animals, after riding one, I dislike them even more. But she enjoyed it so it was worth it!
We are now in our rented townhouse just outside Yellowstone. Tomorrow we will relax and do a short trip to the Norris Geyser basin. For now, it's time to sleep!

Yellowstone, Still vividly and with pleasure remember when Mrs SG V and I visited in *mumblemumble*-tyone...
>*I continued with and finished after I thought it was all going to go wrong* surely!
It's a nice feeling - I recognise it from yesterday when I changed the IP address on the main fibernet router back to its factory setting and before/after that got all the devices in the house on to the same number range. It all went well. Until suddently nothing worked. Still don't know what happened, but it took a direct cable from the router to a PC to get to talk to it and nudge it back to working status. And it was 1:15 when I was done, so I'm a little now...
(of course I had the motivation of an 18-year old and a with who'd have been mightily unhappy with no 'net and no TV today... )
No grandchildren. C (daughter, 18) is still thin as a reed so probably will be some time yet. Which is certainly OK with me!
Good fathering there, GDZ! It's an awful long way down when you sit up there on a , innit?

I have a tarantula in the house. Probably dead, given how much Bug Barrier I sprayed, but just before I went uneasily to bed I spotted it moving very slowly behind some bookcases. Not a big fellow, maybe a little over an inch long not including the legs. But still.

Went to Norris Geyser basin today, It's the only part of the park I vividly remember from my trip in 1989. Then we did a side trip to Earthquake Lake. If you haven't heard about it, you should look it up. Interesting, if scary, occurrence.
Old Faithful tomorrow!

Ooh, what did you do?
Tarantulas migrate, too. They head to Mexico in September. I haven't seen the hairy fellow from last night, so I hope he's lying dead behind my drawing board.
Raining lightly just now, not enough to deter my desert cats from going out to play. My neighbors say they have a herd of elk in their back yard again, but this time there are 4 newborns.

Didn't do much, actually. Needed to find something in BIOS, saw something else in there that looked cool and messed with it. Corrupted the blasted thing, and thankfully didn't do any problematic damage. Still, was sort of a pain til I got the chance to sit down and make sure I fixed it rather than making it worse.
The weather here finally got too hot for all the multifarious critters to even attempt an invasion, but that's after a month of them trying to get a foothold... some of the cockroaches looked like they might be big enough to be sentient. It's crazy how big those things get!
...and while I hate creepy crawlies, I somehow hate killing them, too.

I can understand both perpsectives, really.
And I can also understand about the computer-problems. This is one of the reasons I've never given up my old laptop.

Tarantula!
I agree with hating the bugs, but being unable to off them...not sure I could even do it with spray anymore, my cat is too willing to try and chomp on anything! Heavy dropped objects will do in a pinch, though.

I hate this humidity.
*looks up at the hole in the ceiling* We ought to at least stretch a tarp over that, don't you think?

It's gotten quite a bit cooler over here. Part of it was the rain last night. It looks like we'll be having more where that came from, too ...
I currently have no descendants, direct or otherwise, and no real non-familial relationships either. I don't mind, though.
