It's been cooler up here, the breeze has been nice. Old Faithful was.

Sorry, just dipping my toes in here. Happy Nerd suggested I check this out. Thank you to him/her for the suggestion, & I hope to contribute something meaningful in future.
Unfortunately, it may be at major intervals, due to family illness - I hope this would not be a problem

Well, is not unimportant...
Welcome to these parts, Isa I'm sure Lil will be around to say proper hello - you may want to have a week look at the main Atelier page at A304354 which also has a handy plan of the place and tells you some hows, wheres, and whys

Welcome, Isa, I've seen you around, I'm glad you made it here.
We've had mini cakes here
I can confirm that they are most yummy.
No sign of her laptop repair being carried out - she goes home tomorrow *frets*

My cousin just had a baby, she has called her nevaeh. Good grief, what a thing to saddle a girl with! How do you even pronounce it?

Mr. Dreadful - But really I'm not actually your friend, but I am... Posted Jul 28, 2011
Oh dear lord... when she gets to school age the other kids are gonna give her lleh for that.
I think in the UK any name is allowed as long as it's not offensive, unpronouncable and doesn't contain any digits or 'special characters'.

We need a smiley. We've got
, but it just doesn't have the same effect.
I mean, I'm all for a nice atrocious pun, but you don't apply this principle to naming your child. You just *don't.*

Hallo Isa, welcome to the atelier! I see Santra has already shown you the forum page, so not much else to say except to please make yourself at home! Matina is the head maidbot and she will bring you any mixed drink you care for. And there's a samovar over there, and the IIEM (Infinite Improbability Espresso Machine) over ~there~. IIEM obeys spoken orders for anything non-alcoholic.
Cleaning lady is vacuuming and I can hardly hear myself think.

Agapanthus Posted Jul 28, 2011
Why on EARTH would anyone want to spell 'Heaven' backwards? What are they saying, that the child is the exact opposite of heavenly?
Everyone should have nice sensible easy names. Like Cholmondely-Warner. And Dalziel. And Agapanthus.
Hi, Isa! Nice to meet you.
I went to the theatre this evening, to see Heywood's 'A Woman Killed With Kindness'. Top class scenery, and the actors gave it all a jolly good go, but eheu there is a reason why Shakespeare is world-famous and nobody at all has heard of Heywood. Hmm. Infact the scenery was barn-stormingly good, and gave the best performance of the evening.

Hi Isa, hail and well met!
There are so many parents who didn't *think* about what they named their kids, as in "consequences of". the following were choices made by friends: Chanda Lear, Holly Berry, and one of my high school teachers named his daughter Crystal...not so bad, right? Except, since we all called him Mr. Kleer, per school policy -- I'm wondering if his girl has had him beaten yet.

A part of me thinks "At least they aren't Frank Zappa's children." On the other hand, no matter what he named them, they still grew up as Frank Zappa's children, so their names probably only had a limited amount of effect ...
