4 Danes??? where are the 3 others??
Santragenius V Posted Nov 2, 2000
Sorry, no -- not at all. In fact, I guess that being born & bred in Copenhagen is just about as far from that as you can come...
The reasoning was a two-sided one:
1) I like to keep a door open for people who have had the misfortune to be born on another part of the globe (or somewhere else in the universe for that matter). They, too, should be welcome to become Danes at heart with all that entails (including rugbrød, but there I go again). If, that is, they'll appreciate it and be good (but I'll leave that there in order not to get political)
2) I'm probably best described as a "closet European". I love Italian cooking, throughly enjoy being in France (oh, and the Bourgogne wines...), can put on a decent Glasgow accent when sipping my favourite single malt, etc etc... so who am I to close the door to anybody?
(hmmm -- better run off before I get too philosophical )
All the best,
SG V

Ohh, sorry -- that should be "misfortune" above (including the quotes, which were missing but are reasonably important to what I tried to say)

1) Okay, I get it.
2) Seems we have a lot in common. That is to say I haven't found anything disagreable here yet: Italian cooking, bourgogne, single malt... Why thank you, don't mind if I do!

We are probably quite a few Danes around this place, even if not all of us are residing in Denmark at the moment.
Hiya all!!

Well, I am, as is my lovely wife, living in Luxembourg, have been for just over a year, will for another 4.
The sweet Xmas will be spent mainly in Jutland, i.e. Vinderup, Silkeborg and Århus, with a short and very busy stopover in the Copenhagen area after 2001 rolls around.

Ah, Letzeburg! Had a couple of friends there for a number of years and visited them often enough to see the entire country (what an achievement, eh? )
Happy Xmas - and a nice new millenium for you too!

Yeah, it is not the worst place to be stuck for a while
And the roads are good for the motorbike, just too bad the weather doesn't cooperate this time of year

Apologies, that was taken from another list of Danish researchers, made by someone who also did not check the facts before posting.
_The_ Abi is, to my knowledge, not Danish, but English.

Dang! That's a lot of red&whites. I don't think there's that many Norwegians onsite, though I do know of a few.

JJ42, did you collect the information from the thread "Danish Field researchers" http://www.h2g2.com/F53361?thread=75698 ? There is this thread too (among others), you know: http://www.h2g2.com/F42365?thread=54416 BTW: Wonko the Sane appears to be german. At least we are both members of the GermaniaConnection (I was invited because I'm half-german - well, sort of anyway)

Ottox, many apologies, I did not mean to exclude you, somehow I just did.
Once upon a time, Wonko The Sane was a Danish researcher, http://www.h2g2.com/U34355, oh hey, waddayaknow, he wrote something about being back on September 15, so he must be alive.
I did go through Danish Field researchers and I just dropped a message at Wonko's page, hope he reads it.
