Ditto on the too much money on records/videos. Was in London have been in both Leicester and Stafford for short spells. Your name looks like a glass of a welcoming drink from the who's on-line link. So can I get you a |_| or smiley - ale of anything?

BTW Welcome to the great publication from that illustrious publishing house on Ursa Minor. Share and Enjoy. smiley - smiley

You seem well travelled - I find Stafford especially is best experienced in short spells. If you have to tie me down to a drink it would probably be cheap fizzy lager served in a plastic skiff. Or supermarket tea. I'm looking forward to browsing round, still searching for inspiration for my guide entry...

Fizzy beer in Stafford seems like a good idea for an entry.

I was camping at the showgrounds just. I think I saw enough of Stafford waiting at the station for the minibus to transport us out there. smiley - smiley

Hey there LJ! how's it goin'? didja come up with anything? needing ideas still?

check out my home page.. not that my page is worth copying, but it has some great links to cool forums... maybe you'll find something that strikes your fancy! also, keep an eye out for Mike A. (ace and subbie)Saint of Furry Metal... he's pretty heavy on music too, and never passes up a chance to talk about it!

ok, so drop me a line if you need anything!

Speaking as a resident of stafford for nigh on 20 years now, i cant believe anyone would physically allow themselves to go to Stafford. Most people cant speak properly and I believe there is a shrine to Ben Sherman outside The Colloseum.

Of course there is the quality of the female population of Cannock to be taken into account.. and then dismissed..

I think it would be a nice place if you were say, forty or so, married with children, and not interested in much.

Nothing really ever happens here.. i remember the headline story from the newsletter one week was about a middle aged women who had been stealing garden pots from peoples houses.. Unfortunately she didnt get prison, but she was under curfew between 6pm and 6am..

I did a couple of weeks work experience for the Newsletter when I was 16. I got to write about all the stuff the usual reporters found too boring (try to imagine what kind of news is classed as 'too boring' when you're based in Stafford...)

My biggest coup was the news that the campaign for real ale like a local pub. It was about three sentences underneath a big picture of an old man with a cloudy pint.

I can't help noticing that tonnes of new pubs have opened around the centre - it's not like the old days when you had to choose between the Malt and Hops and Props for late night opening. Though the Colloseum still maintains its stranglehold on Stafford's club culture.

I was a bit gutted to hear that Mike Lloyd's Records has closed though.

There you go. That's my guide to Stafford in a nutshell.
