Doom of Bratwurst and Pommes frites (french fries)

It's a pity to see what happened to our delightful fast food jewel. It wasn't competitive in the new market. You have to run miles to get a really good Bratwurst for example. Even around soccer stadiums they got these straight things warmed up on a sheet of metal instead of a grill. Sometimes they sell ware from the day before and either they know what they do and one doesn't care or they don't really know what sacrilege they ignore! I want the old honest snack bars (called Frittenschmiede) back!
But there's one star on Bratwurst firmament: they say there must be a small grill in a small city, Salzkotten near Paderborn, in deepest (east) Westphalia where one gets the old school Bratwurst. But just in front of the sports hall at the time the second division basketball club plays at home!

The Bratwurst-Story is a part of a bigger problem that is called Curry-Wurst. The most famous saussage in Berlin, nothern germany except the so called "Pinkel-Wurst" belonging to "Kohl and Pinkel". Whatsoever, even in Berlin a good Curry-Wurst is hard to find. The citizens won´t accept this opinion but some fans like me have to travel over 300 km to get a real Curry-Wurst, far away from the so called capital of Curry-Wurst - Berlin.

Holland, according to Uwe Timm's ' Die Entdeckung der Currywurst' the currywurst comes from Hamburg. Mrs 'don't remember her name' invented it by chance (falling up the stairs). So, you might be luckier there at the cradle of currywurst.
But in general I do agree. It's a shame!
