My random "Merry Christmuse" is you
elwood Started conversation Dec 21, 2001
Just my way of saying thanks, after all these many months, for being the first to welcome me here to h2g2. I've enjoyed it very much and now feel it's a home away from home to me.
I hope you have a wonderful holiday and this wish finds you and yours healthy and happy!!
*clears throat*
Silent night, holy night,
All is calm, all is bright
Round yon virgin mother and child.
Holy infant so tender and mild,
Sleep in heavenly peace.
Sleep in heavenly peace.
Silent night, holy night,
Shepherds quake at the sight,
Glories stream from heaven afar,
Heavenly hosts sing alleluia;
Christ the Savior, is born!
Christ the Savior, is born!
Silent night, holy night,
Son of God, love's pure light
Radiant beams from thy holy face,
With the dawn of redeeming grace,
Jesus, Lord, at thy birth.
Jesus, Lord, at thy birth.
*settles down in rocking chair by the fireplace*
Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
All the stockings were hung by the chimney with care
In the hope that Saint Nicholas soon would be there.
Then, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
A miniature sleigh and eight tiny reindeer,
A little old driver so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be Saint Nick.
And more rapid than eagles his reindeer all came
As he shouted, "Oh Dasher" and each reindeer's name.
And so up to the housetop the reindeer soon flew
With the sleigh full of toys and Saint Nicholas, too.
Down the chimney he came with a leap and a bound;
He was dressed all in fur, and his belly was round.
He spoke not a word but went straight to this work,
And filled all the stockings, then turned with a jerk,
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
Then giving a nod up the chimney he rose.
But I heard him exclaim as he drove out of sight,
"Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!"
MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Yes the first posting was moderated, so I broke it into two. To find out which one was the problem, and they wiped out those instead. I can't figure it out. But I hope your holidays were wonderful and thank you for the gift of h2g2. All those months ago!

4 weeks off thats outrageous!
Lucky you. Not that I envy the tough life of a student and that you don't deserve it for all your labors...BUT 4 WEEKS!
I'd have to be in a coma to get that much time away!

Ahh but when you're at work it's 9-5 when you're at uni it's 9-5 + homework, coursework, societies etc etc!

I vaguely remember that from decades ago. But I couldn't complain then because my coursework was drawing pictures and I was doing that all the time anyway.
Now that I get paid for it, I never do any at home.
I'd much rather spend my hometime playing with the baby!
But 4 weeks is a LONG time off. What do you do with yourself...sun on the French Riviera?

No that's in June when I go to my French course in the south of France!

It's some sort of concept apparently not dissimilar to 'work' that I am being persuaded to do over the hols, not quite sure how I'm going to cope with it though!

About work or this revision thingy?
Hopefully it won't take up the entire 4 weeks.
Is it to make spending money or for experience?

So you will be all set to rebuild France's electronic infrastructure.
