Where's the best places to go in Cardiff then? Where does the best breakfast, the cheapest meal and the best pint? What about good clubs - surely Cardiff must have some!

Upstairs in Cardiff indoor market there are a couple of "greasy spoon"-style cafes providing all day breakfasts, faggots, peas, chips, beans and so on at reasonable prices.

It might not be the cheapest or best in Cardiff but it's a more interesting atmosphere than most eateries.

Splott isn't the dodgiest part of Cardiff, Llanrumney & Ely have been joint first in the "Cardiff Dodgy Areas League" since about 1974!!! Doesn't matter anyway, get yourself out to any "local" estate pub in Cardiff, TALK to people & you'll probably have one of the most (or least depending on the amount of beer you drink!!) evening you've had in a long time. NB large groups of blokes looking for trouble should be ran from at the earliest opportunity!

Places to avoid: Cardiff
Cardiff is only a capital city because there is no such thing as a capital town. It is really quite dull.

Cardiff is a Cpaital City because it is (a) a Capital, and (b) a city. If you dispute either of these then please take it up with the English monarch who is responsible for both.

Breakfast?
For the best cooked breakfast in the city centre try 'The Louis' on St Mary's Street. It's not quite the traditional greasy-spoon affair - imagine the restaurant in a 50's style department store - frequented by pensioners. But the food is fabulously cooked, cheap (8 items for £2.25, 6 for £1.85 bot with free toast, the tea costs 99p though.) and you get waited on too - no self-service style joint this one.

Othe places that need to be tried are:
Hayes Island Cafe - an open air eatery, where you often have to share tables with the other customers - and you can meet some intersting/strange people!
