A Conversation for Vampires
vampires, are they real?

Thank-you so much!
Glad to be back into a sane conversation.
Vlad the Impaler (if he ever existed/and the very little i've heard of him) had a bit of a mean streak. He was a leader of some army, in some country, and was a blood-thirsty warrior. Blood-thirsty in the i want to see you die painfully way, not the i want to drink your blood way. However through the history books this may have been misinterpreted. Another possability is that a poet, or a writer, twisted the image with little effort, to give his leader a magnificent image of power of the supernatural. Or perhaps it was his enemies, who after escapeing his blade, conjured up dark dreams in their sleepless nights, a deamon in their soul, haunting them forriver(only a memory-not a possesing spirit). This then would also start a tangent of the supernatural given to him.
Quite a lot to talk about there. I'll leave it at that for now.

Vampires are real and have evolved differently from the rest of humanity. Yes they do drink blood but do not need to kill their victims, in fact most 'donors' as they are called, are very willing. A majority of vampires have a lot of respect for their donors, and the freaks you hear about on the news are just that 'freaks'.
They dont kill any more than the average person, they can go about in daylight and can eat garlic/cast reflection etc. A stake through the heart will kill anything!
The person next door, your best friend, your partner, any one of them could be a vampire and you would never know. Its not a sexual thing or a perversion, the need to drink blood (or consume energy in the case of psy-vamps) is a driving force. They experience physical discomfort, loss of weight, short tempers etc very similar to withdrawal when they dont feed.
Yes it does probably sound far fetched to you, its just a matter of understanding. After all, epilepsy was 'demonic possession' and other diseases whether genetic or germ born were caused by 'outside sources' why do you think it so hard to believe that a similar defect could occur that would create 'vampirism'? Perhaps one day scientists will take notice and maybe do some studies to find out once and for all.

erm excuse me butting in but vlad the impaler though very real was no vampire just a killer..if you like vampire history the 1st reported vampire was Bathsheba, Adams 1st wife (jewish bible)
modern day vampires arent killers either..perhaps a little different, misunderstood but generally regular people..but its good to be different right?
what you hear about on the news, 'bloodthirsty vampires on killing sprees' are not vampires..theyve been tagged that by over zealous news reporters making a name for themselves!

Yeah I've got a mate who's a vampire and he's pretty harmless. I mean he's only stolen one of my kidneys in the whole time I've know him. But what the hell? I've got another 1.

Vlad the Impaler: Very ruthless, albeit fair ruler of Moldava. Bram Stoker based his story upon a part of a myth he read in a library once. This myth bit was that Vlad drank the blood of all the people he killed in his forest of the impaled. A few other myth bits and some fact created the Count.
But where did Vampire legend originate?
Most believe that Vampirology began in a similar way to mythology. People saw a common occurance (groans after death, post-mortum fingernail/hair growth, 'strange' deaths, disease) and assigned to it a meaning, a monster. This monster (at least in Eastern Europe) was a lumbering corpse that only wanted to drink and kill, somewhat how we perceive zombies today.
Over time, literature revolutionized the Vampire. John Polidori was one of the first to write a Western Style vampire and his book was another of the influences upon Bram Stoker.
@'Bathsheba'
This is not fact. Bathsheba, or Lillith as most know her, is more legend than truth in regards to being a vampire. However, her legend is interesting. She supposedly was the one to goad Cain into killing Abel and became the mother of sex demons. She may or may not have existed. I am inclined to believe the latter.

Biblically Bathsheba and Lillith are entirely different individuals, Lillith was Adam's 1st wife, but she declared herself to be his equal and refused to take his orders, then left him. According to some she later had sex with the Devil and produced various demons as her off spring, but this story appears to have cropped up much later in the cycle. Bathsheba was the wife of one of King David's subjects, who David wanted, so he had sex with her and then sent her husband off to war in the front lines, where he died, leaving David free to marry Bathsheba.

It depends on what you class as real. The hollywood one, i don't think exists, though at www.crowfire.net (i think it's .net, could be .com) there's an extensive essay on why the webmistress believes in vampires. From my memory it boils down to there are witches, voodo, vampires, but hollywood/media/myth makes it get all out of hand.

I think Vampires are real. Not like the movies tho.
I am reading a book called
"Vampires~ The Occult Truth" written by Konstantinos. If you really want answers, i suggest you read this book. It will make you think. Then you decide if you think Vampires are fact or fiction. It will answer any questions you have on vampires..x

Well that wud explain why we never see them! What about Elizabeth Bathory though?she was thought to have been a vampire. She wud take young girls from the local town as servants kill them and drain them off their blood and bathe in it as she thought it gave her everlasting youth.she used to bury the bodies in her castle grounds.she was very much a real person!!!just as Vlad the Impaler was very much real person. These cud be 2 examples of vampires that havnt been wary enough of keeping to the shadows and have let themselves be spotted.

I have found an interestion e-book about the term you are talking about: Vampires children of the Inquisition. There some possible answers why you cannot see a vampire nowadays. If someone is interested, write a mail to [email protected]. I will send it to the first five persons, then the others can distribute it to the next readers.

In my opinion, the Vampire myths worldwide do seem fairly similar. However, in the age when these myths formed, the general population tended to be un-educated and heavily superstitious and would have probably believed anything. This leaves me trying hard to figure out what i believe and would like someone to help point me in the right direction. Do Vampires exist?

I think it is safe to say that there are people who have embraced what it is like to be a vampire

probaly not real.
along with the vampirism-and-rabies theory, I think there's some theory about vampires being just misunderstood diabetics or something. But don't quote me on it.
