Do you believe in vampires?:

It deepens in what you mean by 'Vampires'?

There is Vampire Bats, Plants (Venus Fly Trap) and even people who drink blood. Whether supernatural beings exist is not for me to say, but there is evidence for and against them.

1. What vampire movies or literature have you viewed?:

I have read Bram Stoker's 'Dracula' and my personal favourite 'Carmilla' by Joseph Sheridan leFanu. I am a fan of the Hammer Dracula Films and The Karnstein Trilogy (Based on 'Carmilla'). I have seen so many other Vampire films and read a lot about them.

2. Which of these would you say is/are your favorite(s)? Please
include a short summary and explain why this is your favorite.

'Carmilla', a short story by LeFanu is my favourite. The Vampire of that story is evil and yet lonely and sad, also the female vampire's love for the character of Laura is so realistic and in no way seems sexist.

3. What do vampires represent to you?

Well evil and also mans need to live for ever. You see a Vampire is (or was as the case may be) a human who hungered for power and life, but lost it's humanity, in away it represents losing ones soul.

4. What are the negative things about being a vampire?

Well, being evil, being lonely and being cursed.

5. What are the positive things about being a vampire?

Well I have no wish to be a Vampire but if we are talking about movie Vampires, then, being irresistible to women.

6. Would you want to be a vampire? Why or why not?

No, I would not, a Vampire is an evil being, it drinks the blood of humans and animals. I am a human, the way God made me, I have no wish to me evil. Though I wouldn't mind playing one in a film or play.

7. In your opinion, and from your experiences with vampire
literature, what creates a vampire? (For example, was it someone who
committed a great evil? Someone who just been bitten? Do you need to
choose to become a vampire?)

A Vampire of folklore can be someone who commits evil, or was born on a certain day, or was indeed bitten, I am not keen on any literature that changes that.

8. Describe physically what a vampire looks like to you.

It deepens, a Vampires are in many countries folklore and they usually look different, some are fat ugly louts with one nostrel or two hearts etc.

But in film they are usually beatiful but deadly creatures.

If you mean, my favourite Vampire appearence, then I just have to say look for pictures of Ingrid Pitt or Yutte Stensgaard.

9. Are vampires real? Could they be?

Vampires are real, but whether or not they are supernatural is debatable.

10. Are vampires something to be feared?

Yes, but if you have enough faith then you can fight them off.

11. Where and why do you think vampire myths were created?

One of the first Vampire myths was the one of Lilith, Adam's first 'Er in doors', this was a Hebrew Myth, and so it is very old.

Why were they created?

A Vampire is something to fear, it is the ultimate unholy being and it commits great evils, like the drinking of blood. Though it has to based on fact.

12. In your opinion, how do vampires connect to human psychology?
(Do they represent an opponent of humans, part of human nature, a
personification of evil, etc?)

All of those things. The vampire is the ultimate evil, his pleasure (the drinking of blood) is very extreme. The Vampire represents immorality and perversity.

It is also the opponent of good humans.

This has been a fun questionaire, I hope that helps.
