each serise had it's merits

The first series, I think it's fair to say is an unusual choice for favourite. So, I enquire as to why you have made it...?

Not realy sure why I liked that the best, although the other were just as good, I think its just that being the first it made the most impression on me

I think the first series was the last one I saw and too me it seemed weaker in terms of wit and good directing kinda poorer English version of Les Visteurs.

i agree, as in the 1st series, he is immature, and not as suave, and it is funny when he is suave and witty. myfave is the 2nd series.

Hi! Am I the only one who would choose Blackadder Goes Fourth as the best? I thought the series really reached its peak in WWI.

When this conversation appeared on my list and thought about what was my favourite and what was the best series I did think that there were several reasons why the Fourth could be considered the best but that I'd pick the Second as my favourite...

For me the third series is definetly the best.

I watched every episode of The Black Adder and all that followed a short while ago. I realised that at some point I'd forgotten just how brilliant the first series was.

I think the power of the final episode [power came about more or less by accident] distorted my view of the sophistication of the fourth series, it has sparks of brilliance but most of gags a living of the strength of there previous outtings in the earlier 2 series.

I absolutely love Blackadder.

My favourite season has to be Blackadder Goes Forth, with the ever hilarious yet...oh so very raunchy Flashheart...

Second is definately the Third Season.
