...to the wierd and wonderful world that is The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy : Sol III Edition. As a new researcher you have the chance to smear your version of the world into the Guide I am Crescent, your local, friendly Assistant Community Editor (ACE). A meeter and greeter, a guide to the Guide, hmmmm, who sounds like an extra from Hercules or Xena.....hmmm well that is enough of that then. I am here to provide assistance. If you get stuck, have a question, or just want to chat, yell from this forum, and when I notice it I will spring into action. If I am slow slow slow in getting back to you, don't take it personally, I might not be around (Work does call on occasion If this does happen, then ask the other ACE's at their page http://www.h2g2.com/A214796 . They are friendly and always willing to help out

Thanks Crescent, you get the famed "Golden Lips" award for being the first person to speak to me on this site. So a big Well done, and a thank you to you.
I'll no doubt be hovering around, and bothering the decent folks of this site on a more or less semi-permanent basis, since not a lot happens at work these days. Keep an eye out for me in those forums, as I pollute them with my own brand of wierdness.

Thanks one and all.
I have one quick question, if I may.
How does one go about submitting an article, or addendum to an existing article?
I have tried adding conversations to threads discussing topics, but there does not seem to be a flag for requesting official attention. Is there something that I have missed?
Any help appreciated.

Once you've added a guide entry, you can submit it by clicking the edit link, and there's a button to submit this to the editors. I know of any way to request an addendom to an approved article (there may be one that I don't know of, though). If the artcle's not been approved, then the editor or sub-ed should read what's in the forum for the article anyway, and add it if they see fit.
Hope this helps
Joanna

I had this prob with 'Scottish Slang'. The consensus for that was leave the original, and create another article (called 'More Scottish Slang' However you may want to ask a sub-ed (Jimi X is helpful - well he helped me http://www.h2g2.com/U53353 ....hope he can help

I see I already got mentioned, so I'd better say hi as well, lucky for Cresent I had a big backlog of forums to respond to at tea break so he could get here first. Anyway Shade it looks like you've being have fun already, and I'm sure you will continue to bring a ray of "shade" to lighten up this place.
As for advise on Guide Entry's ask away, I've got about 50 to my name and most of those are waiting for approval. If you are going to do anything vaguely related to history, once you press submit lets the rest of the historians know over at the H2G2 Historical Society

We're a helpful bunch and always willing to critique fellow researchers entries in a loving and mutual admiration sort of way.

I see you already have a so I won't bother giving you one.

Again, my thanks one and all. I have now found the submit button, by following the edit link as suggested. Thanks for that.
Depending on your interests, hopefully we shall see each other popping up in threads all over the place.
I am still getting to grips with navigating this little boat, but if we bump into each other, I'll at least say Hi before wrestling with the rudder agian.
Have fun!

...sorry, that was a bit random...

My post was a paraphrase from Alice Through the looking glass, I think the White Queen talks about trying to believe something "with both hands"

Demon Drawer Posted Feb 24, 2000
Not being an avid reader of Alice, gender politics and all that, I didn't realise, but thanks for the fill-in. I know the Walton's you know Alice.

Shade Posted Feb 24, 2000
I have read Alice, but I am not well-read in all things Alice, but the thought is appreciated.
Now if you want to talk about things Winnie the Pooh.....
