Actually, I check in as often as I have access to the net, which is about 1-3 times per week. I don't have one at home, currently.
As to the other thing, yes, I do tend to take on that coloration and pattern, which is why I'm on a mission to make the change voluntarily, rather than automatically. But just TRY spotting me...
Case in point: I have a friend up visiting me this weekend, who has been living in Western PA and in New Orleans. I'll be speaking with her accent for the next month, probably!
