Hey jb!
Just thought I'd stop by and see what you're page was like. I like it.
I wish we had a station like WBER here. You were right when you said OK is a desert, a radio desert. We have no good radio stations here. There are only two that I like. One is an oldies station, but I don't really listen to that much. The other one, the one I listen to (because I don't have a tape deck in my car ) most, plays today's music, w/o the teenybopper stuff and the Korn/Kid Rock/Limp Bizkit stuff. But, the reason I listen to it is because they play the most '80s music out of them all. The local teenybopper station has a retro lunch show that I used to like, but they play two old songs, then they play a new one. So, I don't listen to that anymore. We have one local 'alternative' station, but I usually can't get it, unless I'm on the north side.
I made a list of all the bands that I've seen that were on the photos page and the 100 albums page.
Blondie-my favorite band of all time. I have all their albums on vinyl (except the new one which I only have on cd). I cried when Debbie Harry came on stage.
Mighty Mighty Bosstones-I used to like them a lot, but I don't listen to them anymore. They're awsome live. That was the only show I've ever stage-dived at.
My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult-I like them a lot. They're one of the two industrial bands that I used to be able to identify (the other one is KMFDM). I know more of them now.
Pennywise-One of my favorite bands when I was 14. I only like their self-titled album though, after that they sounded like wannabe Bad Religion. I got punched in the face by a stupid kid at that show. (If you wanna know about it, just ask)
Nirvana-I'm so happy I got to see them. They were really good. I was in a lot of pain at that show though.
Nine Inch Nails-I had a really bad time at that show due to other things, but I'm sure they were really good.
Smashing Pumpkins-They were good, but the show got shut down because someone sprayed pepper spray. And people were passing out because of all the stupid kids smashed up against each other.
Less Than Jake-actually I'm not sure that I saw them, but they're one of the kinds of bands my ex's band played with and I know they played here, so it's possible. I don't like them, but they're covers are good.
Marylin Manson-played with NIN. This was before they were popular, and I knew that they would be. I hated them then and I hate them now.
Here's bands that I haven't seen, but I wish I could.
Beck-Violent Femmes-Jane's Addiction-Buzzcocks-Depeche Mode-Tori Amos-Ramones-Siouxsie and the Banshees-Smiths-Beastie Boys-Cure-New Order-They Might Be Giants-Clash-Radiohead
And I read all your Pan-Galactic Gargle-Blaster recipies and think I'm gonna try yours. It sounds the best.
If you wanna know anything else about me just ask.

Careful with that pggb recipe. Use a *lot* of ice. And the jello recipe I gave is kind of wrong- you should use the (reportedly) cold recipe.
The neat thing about WBER is that they broadcast over the web. I don't know if you noticed that, or even if your computer has the necessary space or capabilities, but you might want to try it. They have a lot of good shows & play a lot of good music.
I have the benefit of living between several colleges that have radio stations- Genesee Community College, Geneseo State(SUNY), Brockport State (also SUNY), and BOCES vocational, which supports WBER. Then there are all the comercial stations (ughh).
I should probably do an entry on Rochester area radio stations...
Sorry you don't have a tape deck in your car. I have one in mine, but the motor mechanism is jammed with a tape stuck in it; it won't play.
I haven't seen nearly as many bands as you have, but among them are Jethro Tull (been around since before I was born), The Barenaked Ladies (not a naked one between them, and all guys to boot), and King Missile (the third incarnation).
Punched in the face by a stupid kid at Pennywise? I'm very curious. Did he survive his error?

King Missile did that deteachable penis song right?
OK, Pennywise was at a pretty small venue, this club called the IKON in Tulsa. During their set, I was sitting on the stage facing the crowd. Now, even if you haven't been in one I'm sure you've seen a 'mosh' pit (I hate that term, sounds so stupid). Anyways, everyone is slamming into me and everyone else that's sitting on the stage, which didn't bother me, that's to be expected. So, to counter the slamming into me, I'm just sitting there swinging my fists, not trying to hit anyone, just in good fun. I guess I hit this kid, he must have been about 14, so, he comes up and pushes me at both shoulders on purpose. So, I just stuck both my legs out and kicked him in the stomach. (What did he expect to have happen in the pit, besides getting hit?) Well, after I kicked him, the kid comes up and BAM, BAM, BAM! punches me in the face three times. Then, this guy that I had been talking to before the show, who was standing right there hit the kid about seven times. After the show I loooked and looked for that kid, I was so mad. The funny thing is, he didn't even hurt me. At all. But, it's the principle of the thing, you know?
I'm in the school library now, and I can hear this guy talking who sounds just like Norm MacDonald. Weird.

Yep, King Missile did 'Detachable Penis'. That's the only song of theirs that ever got extensive play, and since most of the songs have swearing, profanity, etc, it's also the only one that doesn't get censored. It's a very amusing band.
I see Norm every now and then on Denis Miller Live. He seems to have an obsession with the word 'cock'.

I saw him on the Millenium special. I thought he was the best part. I love Norm MacDonald. I don't know what I think of Dennis Miller these days.

Denis has developed some conservative views over the past few years, but that's only natural, since he owns stuff, has children, & is married. He's still liberal, though.
He does have an abrupt, domineering call-taking and interviewing manner.
Sorry about my general brevity. It's snowing up here, so everyone who has a computer is on the net, & jamming up the local server. It took nearly one & a half minutes to load this forum, and it's probably one of the shortest I'm on.
Back in a few.

If you can get why are guys guys to load, please help! I only have 7 hours left!
"he owns stuff", I like the way you put that. Seriously. I still don't know what I think about him. If we're talking Weekend Update, Norm was the best. Did you see him say f*** on the air?

You must keep getting kicked offline. I'll look at who's on here and you'll be gone, and I'm like, 'where's jb? he didn't even say goodbye!', and then I'll see that you've posted somewhere and then I'm like, 'huh?'.
Sorry for getting silly all of a sudden. I'm sorry you're having so much trouble right now. I brought you a donut to make you feel better. I asked for a suprise donut and the one for today is called the DNA. Joanna said that it has a helical (I don't think that's right) structure. I'd tell you what's in it, but she didn't tell me.
Is it really snowing there? It's been raining here, since about 5 this morning.

I promise this is the last time I'm gonna post on here until you do. It's just I gotta get to class, I'm already late.

Got to the guys forum.
I haven't watched SNL for a long time; definitely not regularly. I might skim by it once every few months, or see some on Comedy Central. I didn't see the one you are refering to.
Of the sections of Denis Miller's show, I could probably skip the interview & call ins, and enjoy it just as much, if not more.

I didn't even notice your last two posts- I don't know why. You must have posted while I was posting, or something like that.
I was getting sick of waiting for the computer to load forums yesterday, so I logged off & shut down, hoping it was just this computer's lack of sufficient memory. Started back up again, and it took me half an hour to log back on.
Saw your journal entries. They make your page rather interesting to read.
Yep, it certainly was snowing here. Check out the forum on my page for Snow, where I debate with Engels, my former neighbor, on the pros & cons of NY weather.

Thanks for the donut. helical (helix shaped?)

I guess that's what she meant. They were really popular at the donut stall yesterday.
Thanks about my journal entries. I had to fill them up so I didn't have to look at my stupid entries about that stupid boy. In case you didn't know, I feel like an idiot. But, I am glad that it's over.
But, what else would you like to see on my page? That's why it's under construction, I don't know what to put on there.

I don't know- give me a little while to think it over. Have to sign out now- stuff to do. Are you going to do the page in plain text, GuideML, or HTML?
Sorry about that stuff with him. Completely assinine and insecure, he is.

I'll probably do it in GuideML, once I know how.
I'll be ok. This has just been so hard because it's been so long since I've experienced anything like this.
I enjoyed reading your debate with your friend. It's fun to see the way you talk to someone you've known for a while. I'm sure that P'hul* and I would be the same way, but we can rarely be logged on at the same time.
Talk to you later.

I just re-did my page in GuideML. I was up all night learning HTML and then GuideML, so you better go and see it. Just kidding Like I wouldn't have been up all night anyway.
Seriously though, go look at it. And if you've thought of anything I should put on it, post it on my page. Then maybe other people will.
I had something else I wanted to say, but I've forgotten it, dag-nabbit!

I saw your page (both of them, actually). I thought it looked pretty good. I'm sure it will look even better when you hang up your hardhat. Would you like some code for the h2g2 user's pop-up window?
I should probably be posting this on your page.

Did you sign my guestbook?
What did you think of my other page? I know there's nothing on it, but still what did you think? If things go the way I want, I'll have pictures up soon.
HTML is easy! I tried to make my page using the 'beginner's' tools, and I couldn't get it to do anything right. I like having more control. It sucked though, because I couldn't get my award from The Spark to load on there. All I got was the little button with a red 'x' on it. I got it to show up here, and I would put it up, but this isn't the place for it.
You had better have signed my guestbook or you're in trouble.

Of course I signed your guestbook.
BTW, I have a page at geocities too. It's just for my Freedom From Faith Foundation pictures (I'm on the board), so I just used the page builder tool. Nothing too complicated. I'm planning on starting a new page soon, though, & I'm shopping around for sites that will offer more than Yahoo.
Current site:
http://www.geocities.com/jbliqemp
Which will give you my index. Bunch of links to my other pages. See Scopes the Monkey in various stages of immodesty.
Your award from The Spark?

Laughing Out Loud (so loud I had to spell it all out)!
I answered your question in my guestbook, before I even read it. It's really not that funny, but I did laugh really loud.
I'm going to go visit your site almost right now.
And you reminded me, I need to join the Freedom From Faith Foundation. GB invited me a long time ago. Don't let me forget.
You have to wait to see what I got from The Spark. It's a very prestigous award

Those are great! I really like you're first drawings of ferrets.
You know, you have the same name as my ex-boyfriend.
