This well-written Entry dates back to 2002, and may well need some updating - which I am not qualified to do.
I have zapped a few typos, and replaced a couple of broken links, as follows:
Link timed out. New link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Myocardial_infarction
Linked page not found. New link (from the original site) http://wwwnc.cdc.gov/eid/article/15/5/08-1063_article.htm
Most of the better links seem to be PDFs - are we still unable to link to PDFs, and if not, please explain why we can't?
There are a couple of links to old BBC articles, that I haven't touched, and some of the info contained in the Entry is bound to be outdated.
Is there a doctor in the house?

I never heard that we can't link to PDFs. I wouldn't encourage it because some people might not have a PDF reader installed on their PC, and it's a real pain to be sent to somewhere and then told you can't read it until you've installed something. But if there's nothing else available, I wouldn't see anything wrong with a link to a PDF.

I didn't know that. Thanks for explaining. I can understand the frustration.
I think someone with medical knowledge should take a look at the Entry - even if only to update a few figures and to confirm that the remainder of the Entry is in line with current thinking. I don't fancy fiddling with it myself.
