Another good one!

I'm not sure whether this is worth writing home about, but (apart from some minor changes to punctuation), I've found long sections of the Entry used elsewhere.

This one doesn't seem to credit anyone: http://content.yudu.com/Library/A1qg04/CoastalViewIssue6/resources/11.htm

This one's shorter: http://www.gardening-tools-direct.co.uk/content/autumn_gardening_september_greenhouse.html

Which led me to question whether I could tell who was 'borrowing' from whom smiley - bigeyes . [Not in this case, though, bearing in mind that the writing was shared, and the fact that ideas mentioned in the attached conversations seem to have been included in the Entry verbatim - I didn't feel it necessary to check out the PR Thread.]

There's also a link to BBC Gardening, under 'Referenced Sites', that I'm uncertain about removing.

Gnomon - time to move on

If you feel that this entry is copied from elsewhere, report it to the moderators and let them decide.

If you feel other people have been quoting this entry, it's something we'll need to tackle, but we haven't really talked about it yet. The BBC could have used their authority to lean on people, but in fact they never did. They left it to the author to complain, as I found out when someone copied one of my entries.

I had to go to a dictionary to discover that these are swedes. If you think it worthwhile, I can insert 'swedes' within parentheses, or perhaps someone else might add a footnote for me, instead.

Ps I'm surprised the word didn't jog the filther into action. smiley - winkeye

I remember a long discussion about rutabagas and swedes and whether they are actually the same thing. I don't remember the outcome, but my dictionary confirms that they are.

The way to put a footnote in is as follows:

rutabagasSwedes.

Erm... I am currently trying to finalise a link (from 'salads' to A738641 Salad Recipes), but the system won't let me - I don't think I've made any errors, but I keep being told "Please do not press this button again" - regardless of whether I click 'preview' or 'Update Entry'.

Having spent some considerable time, this morning, tidying up the Salad Recipes Entry, I'm beginning to lose patience.

Does this happen often? Can anyone help me? Please. smiley - grovel

That happens when you click Update and the system doesn't accept it the first time. It gets into a bind, where it thinks you have already submit the change and won't let you submit it again.

Just edit the entry again, make the change again and click Update Entry.
