Just a quick point about a piece written bloody ages ago - the Nazis DID NOT have anything to do with Jesus, and saying that they did will only give the impression that you either haven't the faintest idea or don't care what you're talking about, which isn't the case (you've certainly done a lot of background reading). I see Nazism and Hitler bandied around a lot in various fora in ways which are not only unhelpful but also sometimes insulting to the memory of those who were affected by their beliefs, and the vast majority of the time all it does is make the person posting appear ignorant smiley - grr. Please don't add to the confusion.

Otherwise it's pretty funny, nice one.

Any chance you'll take that bit out?

Oh, P.S. Why say BCE? It's not the "Common Era" - it's only become the most used calendar because of the overwhelming cultural influence/imperialism of the nominally Christian nations. Lots of other people have their own time scale - the Jews are on, er, lots, the Muslims are on about 13/1400ish?, even the Nepalese have got a different date (they're on 2058, for some reason - check this page http://news.bbc.co.uk/hi/english/world/south_asia/newsid_1365000/1365897.stm ). If we're going to get worked up about calling it "Before Christ", why not go the whole hog and say that the date is 2001 YSTFOAMWRWB(ONQCTPWMUTCGIW) (Years Since The Figurehead Of A Major Western Religion Was Born (Only Not Quite Cos The People Who Made Up The Calendar Got It Wrong))smiley - puff - that's (I think) factually correct and won't bug people who get told that their way of counting isn't "common", but ours is. Actually, maybe there should be some kind of campaign to get this acknowledged as the standard thing-that-people-write-on-calendars. It'd be a great way of forcing new songs to be written for Sesame Street as well.

That was meant to be shorter than that. Anyway, let me know what you think. The campaign starts here!

Mister Matty

The Nazi's did not have anything to do with Jesus - this is true. No doubt they considered Christ's teachings the work of a weakling humanitarian

However, they *did* believe in God and felt that they were carrying out His work

Actually, Herr Hitler himself was a great fan of paganism and Norse mythology, as if those two terms mean anything really. The logic was simple; Christianity came from the Middle East i.e. darkies. The Nordic mythology came from Aryans. Aryans>darkies, ergo Norse>Christianity.

It makes total sense if you're a fascist German dictator with a small moustache.

Just a clarification. I meant that Pagan/Norse meant western/northern European religion which aren't Christianity and are therfore self-evidently inferior.

Twophlag Gargleblap - NWO NOW

Hitler himself disdained Christianity but was willing to shake hands with both protestants and Catholics during his ascent to power. Many German people remained nominally Christian and supported the Nazis based on their sense of Christian morality, despite the apparent hypocrisy. In other words, Hitler was a Christian the way George Bush is... he'd say anything he thought people wanted to hear so long as it kept them busy hating things and shaking in fear of the faceless enemy.

The Swastika was nominally a Christian emblem once upon a time, hence Jeezus the Prince of Peace can be said to have been a nominal figurehead on the banner of the Nazis quite literally.

If i wrote this entry today it would read along the lines of "the majority of people are apparently so stupid and illiterate that they can't even process conflicting information or grasp the basics of reason and logic, so small wonder politicians don't bother trying to reason with them and instead bombard them constantly with all sorts of nonsense. Propaganda relies heavily on the overuse of loaded words that are poorly defined, and most major religions provide a plethora of ready-made devices for such an end."

One example of that is the name itself. Nazi=National Solzialistische Deutsche Arbeits Partei.

This means national-solialist German workers party. Equivalent to saying you're a Labour Tory. Everyone saw something in the Nazis that they liked...
