Has anyone else seen a goalkeeping performance so bad that the error-prone pillock in question has been dragged off at half time (and hopefully shot)?
I have.
Paul Rachubka's 'performance' is well worth a watch if you like Blackpool or comedy, or you're Mu Beta.
Anyone seen another keeper subbed at half time?

I enjoyed that.
Thank you for sharing your misery with us.

I dunno, I had to put up with about 10 years of David James

I've seen keepers subbed at half time in pre-season friendlies, but I don't recall any other keeper substitutions for reasons other than injury... although I've got a vague memory of a team changing their keeper immediately prior to a penalty shoot out. Though that might have been a 'You are the Ref' question rather than an actual game....
It's an interesting question in terms of management - substituting a keeper is pretty humiliating, but if he's having a mare and the crowd are getting on his back, perhaps the best thing to do is to get him out of the firing line.

In fairness, the crowd were about to string him up from his crossbar as a warning to other terrible goalkeepers.

Mu Beta Posted Nov 3, 2011
Is that the end of him, do you think? Will he start the next match?

I don't see how he can. Everyone's lost all confidence in him - fans, manager, defence. Can't see how a goalkeeper can recover from that.

Cov pulled a goal-keeper at half time ~ it was someone we had on loan, and initially it was described as precautionary - but once he'd gone back to his club the truth came out.
I'm dammed if I can remember who it was though.

"And so, for the first time in living memory, a keeper was substituted on compassionate grounds."
Funny way of saying "for being absolutely shite".

Does Jim Leighton being subbed for the FA Cup Final replay count?

Didn't Crewe pull off that really tall black keeper that had halfway through a match - or maybe he came on.
Dammit I thought short-term meory went first.

Someone's released a video tribute for Rachubka's entire Leeds career...

I watched that earlier when I saw you post it in twitter. At least someone's got a sense of humour about it, eh?

I hadn't seen any of the lowlights before following that link.
Good grief... that's pretty horrible. His defenders don't do him any favours in one or two of them, but..... ouch.
