Anyone else entered the lottery?
We felt that we HAD to - my daughter is always moaning how there is never any footy on her birthday so the opportunity to get tickets for a World Cup match on her birthday in Berlin seemed just too good to ignore.
The entry form was a bit complicated (well more than any of the last few Euro ones that is) and some of the conditions are a bit restrictive but there you go.
With approximately 5 applications for evey ticket going on sale I suppose we stand some chance.

I'm still waiting for England to qualify, and then to get it on the englandfans+(Formerly the Member's Club, a wholly better run and managed organisation IMHO) allocation. Although given that I missed Poland and Austria away, it means I probably won't be guaranteed more than one ticket for one game, despite them taking 60 pounds off me to renew my membership (ooh, 60 quid for an entry into a ballot and a 'racist' DVD. Tops).

considering the terrific job "les bleus" are doing to prove that the french REALLY can't play football, there is a distinct possibility that WC 2006 will be cancelled. sorry.

I am and I remain far more interested in club football than in internationals. And I know that I'm not alone in that view.
Whenever I've asked the question: which would you prefer, your nation to win the World Cup or your club to win the league title. The only ones who ever go for the World Cup option are those who support ManU and Arsenal ie those for who familiarity with top silverware has bred contempt.

Dunno, a Spurs fan I live with has a really convincing argument against that statement GD, I just can't actually remember what his reasons for preferring England to win the World Cup were...

You are all showing yourselves up! I am hoping to go to the World Cup for the ambience - meeting lots of people from other countries and having a good time with them! A girl from South Africa who I met in Coimbra last summer came over for three weeks and attended her first ever matches at Highbury (she saw 4 matches, 2 FA cup matches, a loss to ManUre and a draw and was in absolute heaven). She insists that I am going to see her in 2010 - I shall be able to stay with her in Cape Town and I cannot wait!
I have absolutely NO IDEA which teams I shall be seeing and that is not the important part - I just hope to see some good football on the way. I was lucky enough to see THE best match of Euro 2004 and one of the worst too (Holland v Czechs and France v Greece).
As for World Cup v Premiership trophy - give me the Premiership trophy EVERY TIME. None of the rest of you would be very happy if my team won the World Cup anyway unless there is an undeclared Oranje out there

It's an odd one. Yes, most people in England would rather their club won something than the national team. But the national team is for everyone - which for my is why it's more important.

Well that was all academic anyway - didn't get allocated any tickets at all! I will have to find a better holiday for next summer !
