Where has everyone gone?

Has everyone lost interest in football or has the discussion moved somewhere else?
There is just SO much to laugh about ATM ... e.g. Arsenal imploding under attack from Chelski's secret weapon, Roy Keane struggling to keep up his 'team manager' demeanour, goalkeeping errors galore

Gallas did accuse the Arsenal team of lacking bravery, being work-shy and insolent.
I don't know what he expects: they're all French.

Steady on there B ...
Why the 'French' stereo-type insults? And less than 30% didn't ever count as a definition of "all" in my book.
Lacking bravery - just stepping on the pitch with Billy Boy you must be pretty brave, he is likely to have a go at you when HE makes a mistake let alone when you do
It seems to me that two of the most hard-working members of the Arsenal team are the full backs and they are both French
In football isn't it traditionally the Dutch who implode due to internal strife (insolence)?

Ah...I thought I might strike a nerve, there.
Nothing personal. I'll quite have a pop at Everton or Leeds if the appropriate people turn up. Unfortunately, to the best of my recollection, Orcus is a Liverpool fan, and they don't have a lot going against them at the minute.

Well my Brother-in-Law supports Luton Town so you could go there.
Having grown up in Bedford I grew up loathing them, but this season has actually seen me have some sympathy, for obvious reasons.

I know it's not personal (I am not French) but then I have ALWAYS hated any criticism based on stereotypes especially national ones! You could suggest that English are all as evil as, say, Fred West using him as an example of a (stereo)typical English person? Or that all Americans are as stupid as Dubya?
Anyway ... my team is imploding due to the (negative) influence of our captain Quite HOW he became our captain I really do not know - anyone else's team got a really unsuitable captain?
How about the goalkeeping errors this season? Some have been hilarious? One of the funniest is the fact that the England team don't really seem to have an obvious stand-out best keeper - so much so that some members of the fourth estate have suggested that a Spaniard (who could 'become' British very soon) might be the best available! Well they haven't had to watch him close up, week in week out like we have and, if I supported the England team, I would be very worried by the thought that he is the best 'English' football has to offer!
As for Mr Keane ... I think that his 'manager' demeanour is starting to slip a bit

I think we have the opposite in Phil Neville-someone who is such a good captain, he stays in the team despite his deficiencies as a player, as opposed to Gallas who is a deficient captain, but such a good player.
Gomes has been the funniest goalkeeper in my opinion. Or the Hearts keeper who got subbed at half time in a tactical substitution

There's so much going on - but everything else pales into insignificance against the recent news that Jeff Stelling is going to present Countdown, surely?

My god, I've just looked that up, it's actually true?
Are we going to get Gabby Logan doing the numbers

I would nominate Paul Merson for that very important role.

Interesting thread to dig up.
Matt Le Tissier WAS in dictionary corner. AND he solved a numbers game that no-one else got...
