Magwitch - My name is Mags and I am funky.

It's a long shot, I know, but you can never tell. I wondered if you could help me.

I'm currently researching and writing a potential collaberative Guide Entry on 1980's evening/night TV. It's not *very* important (but would be rather smiley - cool) if anyone could give me an indication of which match would been the featured match on Match of The Day on 28th April 1984.

Also (yes, I know I'm taking the proverbial) am I right in thinking that around this time there was a 'featured' match and not all goals were shown from the then First Division, or did they show all goals. I did used to watch it then (not so much in recent years) but time etc...smiley - senior

In that year it would likely have involved Liverpool I'd imagine as they won both the league and the European cup in that year. Southampton and Notts Forest were good that year too. I think Scumpton came second.

OK...take your pick:

Arsenal 2-1 Leicester
Aston Villa 3-1 Notts County
Liverpool 2-2 Ipswich
Luton 1-2 Watford
Man Utd 0-0 West Ham
Norwich 1-1 Everton
Notts Forest 0-0 Stoke
QPR 2-1 Tottenham
Southampton 8-2 Coventry (this might have been likely!)
Sunderland 2-1 Birmingham
Wolves 0-0 West Brom

Have you mentioned that Southampton were playing their 'England Captains' side at this time?

It wasn't the Southampton - Coventry game. Remember in those days they didn't sent cameras to every ground, just to about 3.
