I am trying to find a way of archiving all the Snippets that I have written for The Post. I did have all of them backed up on a external hard drive, but Word will now not open them all.smiley - erm

I can not copy and paste them as they are on my page at present, and there is no Edit option once they have been in smiley - thepost?

It will only open some of them now, and I want to back them all up using OpenOffice, which I have been told will sore them for ever for me.

Does using the 'test' function achieve what you need?

For example, http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/test56850609

Hi Danny, yes I could do it if I could use the Edit function. Mind you, that link you showed me was in Guide Mail and I always use plain text, but even at that I could still copy and paste them in GM.

I have tried an experiment with a another document and it worked a treatsmiley - winkeye

Smudger, you don't need to be able to edit, just insert "test" instead of the A in the url, and you can see (and copy and paste) the GuideML...

Hi Basalt Maria, many thanks for that, I appreciate it, but I have given up on the idea now, too much hassle to make all them changes, and besides no one would be that interested in that anyway? Thanks again for your help thoughsmiley - ok

Smudger,

Can you not simply highlight the text you want, copy and paste?

I have done this with some articles I want to save to Word and the only problem was that it was white type but I just did a select-all and changed the font colour to black.

Yea! Feisor, I know how to copy and paste, its just that I cant remember what I was asked to change, or by who, it was so long agosmiley - erm

Must admit the thought of it being edited was exciting at the time, but they wanted so many changes, I just gave up on it?
I think it was due to the fact that I had to describe so many of the parameters in it, that I lost track of the subjectsmiley - ermsmiley - winkeye
