A Conversation for How do I...?

Just wondering if there's a way to unsubscribe from a lot of conversation threads in one go? Like with my mobile phone, I can select several text messages to delete at once, or you can delete lots of emails at once too. Just thinking that I haven't been online for ages, and it took me nearly an hour to sort through all the threads that had built up and unsub from ones that weren't relevant.

'Fraid not. The quickest way I've found is to have your personal space open, then right click on each unsubscribe 'x' and select 'open in new window/tab'. That way, you can go down the whole list, then close all the new tabs, refresh your personal space and start again.

kea ~ Far out in the uncharted backwaters of the unfashionable end of the western spiral arm of the Galaxy lies a small, unregarded but very well read blue and white website

I do it that way too, although I open a more postings page that lists 200 posts at a time.

smiley - yikes Sounds like a pain that way too! Might be a useful thing for the techno people to develop though. Thanks for the tip though.

Gnomon - time to move on

I find it's faster not to use "open in new window". List the conversations in Brunel, click on the x to unsubscribe; when the screen changes to say you've unsubscribed, click on the Back button at the top of the screen or hit the Backspace key on the keyboard. You'll be back to the list and your conversation will still be shown, but you'll actually be unsubscribed from it. Do this for 10 or 15 converstaions, then refresh the screen by clicking the Refresh/Reload button at the top. You should be able to unsubscribe from about 15 conversations a minute by this method.
