Well, that didn't last very long, did it?

I must be careful how I put this as she may be lurking.

I could sense something wasn't right. She left for work Wednesday morning as normal, had a girlies' night out that evening, no problem.
Thursday she phoned, really tired etc. so wouldn't be round. Ri-i-ight...
Friday, not a peep. Sent a text, no response. Hmm...

Saturday, got a text. Text? Not a call. Can she pop round? Pop? She lives 15 miles away; you don't just swing by on your way past!
My spider-sense tingling, I think, "If she's got her overnight bag with her, then no worries."

No bag.

"Cup of tea?" say I, as I always do.
"Erm, yeah, if you like..." Her response to that question lacked it's usual enthusiasm.

I put the kettle on (very fetching it is too), and went through to the lounge with a 'here it comes' mindset.

"We need to talk."
"Okay," I replied.
"I can't do this anymore!"
"Right."
"I'm still in love with B*b, and it's not fair on you..." (B*b is her ex, but I've cunningly disguised his identity. Clever, no?)
"That's fine..."

Now, we'd been together less than 2 months, three weeks of which she was on holiday, but still...

Ah well, fun while it lasted, I suppose.
