Hi there! I just thought that I would drop by to greet a fellow Ace and bump your counter up at the same time! You sound as if you are leading quite an interesting life! Have you ever considered writing articles not only for the Guide but also for the POST... h2g2's very own weekly newspaper? As the managing editor... some might say the big cheese LOL... I am always on the look out for new contributors!
Please drop by anytime to my page, but excuse the poor presentation atm... I am *between servers* and quite a few of my gifs don't work

Thanks for the offer, Shazz. What exactly does a POST reporter report on anyway? I've been looking for something new to do, and this just might be it...on my way to your homepage by the way

Hi there Sorry about the delay!
A Post reporter can write on just about anything they want to... preferably something which they find interesting... that always makes for a better read
We welcome all kinds of articles from serious to the ridiculous! Some researchers write about their various *clubs* in h2g2, some about world affairs, some about interesting web sites/ articles they have found (If you do this be sure to put in the relevant URL LOL)
Try reading an old edition from about 5 or 6 weeks ago, and compare it with the latest edition. You should find that there are a few regular items, but also lots of contrast
Please contact me if you are interested in trying out an article! You don't need to become a *PR*... just an accredited writer with a link to your page
I am always gentle with my editing... and will send you a copy before it goes to print if you so wish

Sorry for the delay, had a little computer problem...I'd love to be a POST reporter, but the fact is that I'm only at the beginning of a series of educational commitments. Two years from now comes the Indian equivalent of the British A level, and then I have the Entrance Exam for the Indian Institute of Technology(you know, the place where all the Indian computer whiz kids come from). So I'm probably available only till March 2001, after which I sink into the dull rhythm of studies...Still, if that's okay with you, I think I'll give it a try. Do the POST reporters have to produce an article in some specified time frame, or is it more free, so to speak?

Well, to be honest... most of the other PR's just do the occasional bout of editing. I was thinking more of you just contributing the odd article now and then, whenever you had a burst of inspiration That way, you would have no pressure to produce an article for a specific date (Unless it was related to a specific event of course) and could feel free to just drop me a line and tell me that you had an article that particular week
You would, of course, get full credit for your article and a nifty link to your homepage. We are in the process of revamping the way the Post is run, and making it easier for contributors to contact us by setting up a *Post Office*. I will keep you informed how it is progressing! Then, any researchers writing for us could style themselves Pc's... Post contributors LOL
So... when you are ready, let me know and I will be pleased to receive it!

Well Shazz, I think its a good idea. How do I go around writing an article for the Post?

shazzPRME Posted May 1, 2000
Well... if you have read this weeks' edition, for example, you will see that most of our contributors pick a subject that interests them and just goes ahead and types! Unlike a submitted entry, we are open to anything, including tales of goings-on around h2g2.So... you can either have a go at something fairly serious (as Stragbasher did), or you can try a more light-hearted approach (like Keeza). What interests you most? Maybe write about that. When you think that you have something sorted out, just drop over to my homepage and email it to me as a word attachment... or go to the Post Page and drop it in there It will reach me either way... although I hope to have a swanky new Post Office set up soon which should make getting an article to me even easier You will be amazed! Once you start, you will find how easy it gets!
Thank you for your interest
