Actually, I read in Discover Magazine some time back, that the trick for the "skeeters" was to strech your skin around the probiscus as it bites. It cannot remove it at that point, nor can it stop ingesting blood.
"POP goes the *skeeter*!"
(Yeah, the writer thought it was sick, as well.....but admitted to enjoying this activity a great deal as a youngster!
