I recently downloaded off the internet instructions on how to make a plane using house flies for engines. you basically split a matchstick in half and glue the two parts together in a cross. Glue a little fin onto the back for a tail. Then you knock out 4 houseflies using CO2 and glue their abdomens to the tops of the wings. wait 2mins for effects of CO2 to wear off and hey presto.
By the way I have worked with blood sucking insects and the hand squeezing thing is bollocks. You can however let them feed on your arm (stable flies) for a few seconds, before flicking them against a white wall for a cool splat effect.

Hey, the plane sounds great!! How do you go about knocking out the flies with CO2? Do you fill the room with it and wait or what?
Mosquitos will fill up nicely with blood if you clench your arm really hard. When they finally take off, the weight is so much that they can hardly fly. It is then a cinch to splat them between your hands, creating a nice little work of abstract art.

Maybe you should visit the Killing Flies Bare Handed forum with this tale of fly airoplanes. I don't have the oomph to go find the address and put in a link, but it's attached to the flies entry.
