So, what do you call people who will defend the Apple platform to the death a declaim loudly it has no fault whatsoever, never crashes, and that the Apple company are a piece of heaven on earth?
I'm not anti-Mac, or a 'gatanist'. I do like windows, although only the NT flavours. 95/98 is an operating system for small children and old ladies, and shouldn't be allowed in the office. A properly configured NT network beats a mac network hands down in the office productivity stakes.
As I said, I have run both systems, and I grew up on VMS, an O/S for men. I have a powerPC laptop and I read current mac mags. I understand fully the holes in windows it's ups and downs. But I can't be bothered with evangelising about either.
Your brother probably ought to learn not to critise on the random things like noises tho., that is just unhelpful.
This is a bit of a long rant, cos I found 'gatanists' to be insulting and unhelpful.
Have fun, may your O/S go with you!

Hmm, well I don't know what they'd be called actually. It would be interesting to come up for a name for such people - actually, why not see if we can think up one for unrealistic defenders of other OS's as well. It could be fun.
I don't think I'm one of them though. I do like MacOS, and I think it's easier to use and more stable than windows... but I don't claim that it's perfect. I'm not anti everything else either - linux isn't too bad. And I like to think that when I criticise another OS, I don't resort to emphasising such pointless things as sounds.
If you didn't find my entry helpful, that's fine. As for finding it insulting, I didn't mean it as an insult to anyone. I'm merely giving a name to a certain group of people, not meaning to imply that anyone in particular (apart from my brother) belongs to that group. You are clearly not a gatanist, and as far as I know the majority of windows users aren't either, so there's no reason for you to feel insulted.

I don't find what you've written insulting; it's really quite amusing; but it probably won't be accepted as an Official Entry in its present form. I say that because it is rather more subjective than material that is considered "the right stuff". This is only my opinion, for what it's worth; and I offer it in the spirit of constructive criticism.

Yeah, you're probably right. But since it was my first entry I couldn't help submitting it just to see. I unsubmitted it the next day because I thought it was silly but then I submitted it again a few days later just in case.
