Fairly big thing, i would think. Cordite fires bullets. Real gunpowder (black powder) hasn't been used for over a hundred years except by the muzzle loading enthusiasts. Without cordite, they would have had to rely on really sharp sticks to win the war.
Still, I agree, a very interesting entry. Excellent.

An excellent piece. It's a shame a huge worldwide game of conkers wasn't held instead of six years of warfare! Although I'm sure someone would have cheated and baked theirs in vinegar or somesuch old schoolboy method..
