If you just crack it into water how do you stop the white going mis-shapen and stringy? It ends up looking like something a lama just spat on your toast. I much prefer an egg cooked in a mould, looks much more appetizing.

Try this method and you"ll see that you end up with a perfectly shaped egg (unless the egg is really stale) - that
's what it is all about.
