h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

If there isn't one already (I have looked for it), someone should write a guide entry on commonly used abbreviations on the internet. IMHO for example, should be in there since I haven't the slightest clue as to what it means.

It would be a challenge to come up with an entry on Internet abbreviations that is more than a rather dull list. Why not take on the challenge yourself?

Abbreviations can also mean different things in different places, although there are a lot of common ones like LOL, LMAO, ROFLMAO and so forth...

I thought IMHO was "In my humble opinion", where "humble" means "humble" like "with respect" means "what you just said is rubbish".

My own favourite is TLA.

I think it can mean either depending on where it's used. Some places it's "humble", some it's "honest" and some it's both at the same time, or one or the other depending on what the author intended but neglected to tell anybody else.
