Erm... Where do I start...

I'm sure you've seen what has happened to the Space Station... It's gotten... well... hijacked... Sort of...

What I mean is that the people who are posting there are not likely to have read all of Bond, and we (that's me, E and Mrgrunt) don't think it's fitting the overall atmosphere of the movie... What is more, now there's a chief of security running around with a Kill-O-Zap... If that's Bond, then I don't know if it's me that's wrong or the world...

Well... I don't know what you think of it... If you haven't, go and read it... I think you'll agree that we cannot continue the movie as it is in that scene...

There have been several suggestions what to do...

1. Start the scene over in a different place... Which wouldn't be too kind to the people there... But we needn't tell them, and we can always invite them to participate when they've read the rest...

2. Affy can realise it's all been a dream of his...

3. Affy can move to the moon, with all advantages (low gravity etc...)

4. Affy realises he's on the wrong station...

The problem with the last 3 suggestions is that they are quite hard on Greebo and the others...

Mrgrunt has posted a similar message to Affy's page to see what he thinks... The problem is that Affy hasn't been online for several days now...

That's why I'm asking your opinion of the whole thing...

Yeah...that just about sums it up...

I haven't caught up with Bond yet today, but I could see the start of what you are talking about earlier. Affy is away until Monday. He is out of town and doesn't get back until then. He usually comes on H2G2 in the evening, so it would effectively be your Tuesday before he can respond. I don't know if the current scene can continue until then. I'll check it out now and then see if I can think of anything.

Well, I checked it out. I agree it isn't really in sync with the rest of the movie. And I agree that we should be sensitive to feelings of Greebo and friends. That makes it pretty difficult. I think you have come up with the main choices:

1) Have the story bypass the Space station base: we could have the villian radio the shuttle while it is in flight saying that the space station was a decoy and that the the shuttle should continue to new coordinates (i.e. the moon).

2) Use the space station bit, but have the story move on from there quickly: have Bond fight his way to the control room to find it empty except for some clue pointing to the moon.

The trouble with 1) is that it is hard on Greebo and friends. The trouble with 2) is that it leaves in the ... er ... imperfect part. My vote would be for option 1). What does everyone else think?

BTW, I checked the guide to see where a moon base thread could be hung. I found 2 places:

An entry on the solar system: and obvious choice
An entry on mooning: a more humourous choice

I would vote for the second one.

I'd say option 1...

...But I don't see any reasons why they have to stop posting to the space station forum...

And if the sylmposts don't get in the way...I'd go for the 2nd one of the entries to have it coming off...

I noticed the drift, we've kept this thing within genre for about 20 scenes so far, I've even started work on the Directors Cut so that the full movie will eventually appear on one page. I think we could occassionally post to the rouge tread to make it look like a real thread and go elsewhere. After all Bond is full of subdefuge (sp.) I think for the good of the film which is surely reaching near dramatic Climax, we should jump. Just tell me where and I'll gather up the key cast members we haven't mentioned yet.

Maybe DD could entertain the people on the station whilst quietly running a new forum parralel to it on one of the two suggested forum locations.

I can set up a moon base and have the villian radio the shuttle, which is now in flight, I think (even though JB is somehow already on the space station). The rest of the cast should be able to follow from the R thread, where I will post the radio message to the shuttle. That sound ok to everyone? I'll also email Affy to tell him what happened.

OK all agreed all we need now are co-ordinates.
