Seagull's Lost Horizon

I've been listening to the big finnish audio adventures of doctor who which I have to say I love, the paul mcgann ones, I wasn't looking forward to but I've found I've been looking foward to them, its nice that the later doctors get a chance to flesh out the parts better, and to do things they never got the chance to,

the Auton videos I liked, out of the video spin off's I've seen, a bit dissapointed with downtime,

anyone know of any good spin off's

I'm a big fan of the BBC novels. Of course the quality varies from book to book, but overall the standard is high and in some cases, very high. Particularly novels by Paul Magrs, Lawrence Miles and Lance Parkin.

I started to read the new adventure ones that first came out in the early 90's only the first 5ish,

I read beltempest no so long ago to see what it was like, hated it to be honest, if you've read it how does it compare to the average bbc Doctor who book?

I've only read a few of the newer novels - mainly because I buy my books second hand. I've just finished reading the MA version of Downtime. I agree, that was disappointing, and was put off getting the video.

I've not gone for any of "The Stranger" series yet - what are they like?

yeah I've got it taped off sky a few years ago, it was recorded entirely on film, due to asbestos removal at the bbc I think, jon pertwee's first story, not bad as I can remember, I'd love tyomhave it on dvd though, I'll get a dvd player just as soon as I get some spare cash, so I'm not holding my breath

I've not got a DVD player either, but as 3 of the people I share the house with have a DVD drive, I feel that I don't really need one at the moment - which is good as I can't afford one. And I probably wouldn't buy one unless I had DVDs to play on it.
So far my DVD collection consists of "Remembrance of the Daleks" and "Dune".

One fun Doctor Who DVD would be the "Unearthly Child" one, with all the different angles etc included from the Pilot version.

I dunno. K-9 and Company was pretty poor.

I uspose the problem is that we omnly watch them because we like the doctor and they are not quite doctor who.

I recently got the Bernice Summerfield anthology "A Life of Surprises". Brilliance, utter brilliance! Kill the Mouse! is probably my favourite, the Cacogens were a brilliant creation and Daniel O'Mahony managed to bring terror to something as innocent as a little girl...

You haven't heard any Benny?!

Sorry I was trying to outraged then, but I can't say I am really I hadn't read any until recently either. Though I do suggest you try reading or listening to some. Gives the impression of what life would be like if the Doctor were a woman (and drank and swore and went on the pull occasionaly)
