Traveller in Time reading in the ghost town
"The Writers have a button on their space with wich they can transfer their account to HooToo, Collective or WW2.
Are we going to keep track on these transferred Writers ?
I have not found any easy way to list them or even find out if they have been Writers.
The transfer takes place in one go, there is only the official Single Sign In procedure. There is a link to the < <./>FrontPage</.> > before they switch. No < <./>Welcome</.> > or < <./>DontPanic-tour</.> > or any other proper introduction.
Any ideas ? or will we let them knock our door themselves ? "

Traveller in Time browsing the new Researchers lists
"Indeed, just do you regulary check the 'New Researchers' from a year ago? Even if they already have several postings ontheir 'Personal Space' ? "

Unfortunately not, and doing so would be very difficult as there are so many.
The easiest strategy I can think of would be to create a thread on Askh2g2 where people who spot GW transfers without ACE welcomes can point the ACEs towards them.

Traveller in Time on top
"There is already a thread on < <./>FeedBack</.> >: 'Moving from Get Writing to h2g2' < F615?thread=604821 >, however for both they have to know about before they would post to it. Something like the chicken and egg sequence. I notified 'Peta' and 'Caite' about this. Nobody seems interested however."

There's only so much we can do TiT short of going round every single GW member and telling them. As far as I know they were all made aware of the options available to them. It's not that nobody's interested at all.

Traveller in Time with the only list about the transfers
"Eightythree Writers have changed their registered site so far. Some will have gone to HooToo, some to to Collective and some to WW2. "

If they've come to h2g2, then they'll be ACEd. Nothing to worry about on our part.

Traveller in Time on the new Researcher list
"They come over to HooToo, only new in the list at their registration date. That will be on average a year ago, and there will be loads of comments to their page already. Are you going to check every 'ancient' account? "

I thank that what Traveller in Time is trying to say is: how will anyone be able to tell (using the newusers page) which of the researchers that have come to h2g2 from Get Writing?
They won't show up among the newest ones, but on the date they registered at GW.
They won't show up as "Show only those with Introductions without any Postings made to it (ie those whom the Aces should welcome)" because they will most probably have postings on their user pages from their time at GW.
There is no way to single them out from the other researchers - the only way to find them is to go through each and every researcher on the newuser list from the date that GW started up until now.

Traveller in Time on his head
"Indeed, I wrote about that you can not find them easy.
I guess 'fords' is re loading and reading all Personal Space entries of last two years on a daily base. "

Emmily ~ Roses are red, Peas are green, My face is a laugh, But yours is a scream Posted Apr 1, 2005
I found some the Get Writing transfers earlier today TiT, by going back 12 months on new Researchers list, but only found about a dozen that had no posts on their Space.
Did you say you had a list of those that had transfered TiT? I sometimes find it a bit difficult to understand the way you talk in riddles.
I don't think there's much else we can do, unless we come across them by accident, or when they submit fiction/poetry in PR.

Traveller in Time asking older newbees
"I do not have a list, I see them disappear from the list upto the 24th March. If I had a list I would just give the names and numbers. "
