Can anyone help?

I went to look at the page of a researcher with a name I didn't recognise. U3294375

I realised he/she was a newbie but didn't appear to have been aced, despite having been here a few weeks, so I tried to post a welcome message. Every time I try, it tells me I'm not signed in and can't post until I am, I sign in, try again, and am told I'm not signed in! smiley - grr

Can someone else try? It's not a general bug because I can post to other convos on my list.

It's most probably a researcher from another messageboard, that's why you can't leave a message, so don't worry about that smiley - hug

Ok, it just seems weird. They have posted things here. I didn't realise it worked like that.

No, it's not that obvious, because most postings shown are on h2. Friendslist leads to somebody from 606.
Whenever youcan't leave a message, it's a clear indication that the researcher has signed up with another message board. smiley - smiley

That's probably because he's posted on a h2g2 convo thread, although I haven't time to smiley - lurk sorry

Have a look at < <./>/dna/collective/U3294375</.> >, below their introduction Collective shows what site the account belongs to. More or less exacly the kind of message I am asking for for about a year by now. smiley - whistle"

He's a 606 user. And the h2g2 who's online list shows users from all DNA sites and messageboards at the moment. It hasn't been changed to show only h2g2 users.

A succession of modifications, to the way the dna software shows things, has combined to lead to this confusion being common.

1. The removal of the PS A-number from display in the article list (which would have revealed the site).

2. The redirection of A-numbers to U-numbers.

3. The display of U and its attached forums in any sub-site skin from which they are approached, rather than in the native one.

4. The introduction of SSO in the first place - breaking the original, genuinely single sign-on!

5. The ongoing problem of unhelpful and inappropriate error messages all over the site.
