On Friday, I'm supposed to drive to a clinic to have an MRI [a.k.a. CAT scan). It's early in the morning. I hope I'm awake enough to drive at that time of day.

I have a man coming to service the boiler, too!

I can't count the number of ladders I've purposely walked under and other bad luck stuff

a woman in town once (pretending to be a Romany gypsy) said she'd curse me for NOT buying something from her - oh wow! BUT! her face when I replied:- with my body! how can you curse me worseit shut her up

Many black cats have crossed my path. Most of them were pretty beautiful. I once saw a mother cat with her two half-grown kittens, black as the night. They were as elegant and graceful as any ballet dancer you can imagine.

Thanks for reminding me. I'm not going out tomorrow. I won't leave the house.

I've always liked black cats.

Two of the most fluent talking cats I've ever known were black cats, a mother and kitten.

Besides 'yes' and 'no', they could manage quite a few other English words as well.




On the other hand, if the black cat is one I'm not acquainted with, I'll still walk the long way around rather than cross ones' path.

I'm not sayin' nuffink at this stage. Don't wanna tempt providence and all that

Aren't superstitions silly? *crosses fingers*

Myself, I don't like to tangle with my unconscious mind. It always wins and is by nature self destructive.

My alarm clock rang this morning. That's bound to mean something.

I have a 'low-key' day today! I'm not superstitious but I do think we can affect events by our attitudes and the way we approach them.

...waal, the day began before I got my wake up call with my sister engaging her husband in screaming hysterics about improvements to my Mom's place and more wake up calls to my nephews, then I got mine.

One of my nephews had an accident and a minor injury, his father trying to call him up and get the details mis-dialed, waking my Mom up.

In turn, she's confused about what day it is, when I'm next coming by, although we've settled that at least 30 times this past week, still recovering from stroke damage.

Even though they ought to know better, she's confusing my sister and nephews.

I should have warned my sister about Friday the 13th yesterday.

I thought everything had all been settled the last time she and I talked.

She's not answering her cell and is probably wiping her voice mail unopened.

My brother in law has turned his off, though I did try to place a sympathy call.

Haven't tried to call my nephews yet.



Next thing I do is take my blood pressure meds and anti-arthritic meds...

So, all in all, a pretty bog-standard sort of a day then.

Apropos nothing really, I opened the hootoo smileys page in a new tab and clicked on 'People'.
