Does this thread have somehow something to do with the "Who will win the election" thread?

Probably not. This thread is designed to be accessed in the *other* 2008, which has a completely different world in it.

That's what I thought too: I didn't recognize any of the parties involved. *sighs with relief*

Yes, I like this 2008 better than the others, because there are picnic areas at every interesection with free nacho chips and salsa. There are no taxes, because some government figured out how to siphon big bucks from Bill Gates's pocket without him knowing. There's no Al Qaeda because the founders took a wrong turn in 1994, and stranded themselves in The Twilight Zone.

Frenchie, they're the real British parties this time. Far be it from me to identify them though. That might be regarded as bias
Yes, Paul, this one has the whiff of sanity about it, (so far), in contradistinction to the actual facts of a real election. The other one had Beth Gibbons of Portishead mind you...
I'm sure you'll do something. Sanity can be so fragile

Prof - I wonder what would happen if SPOILT won the election?

SPOILT? Let me guess what the letters stand for:
Society for the Prevention Of Illegal Latrine Toilets.
Start Pumping, or I'll Lacquer Pomegranates
Sixth Pier Onion Illumination Lessons Today

Or as they put it in the 1982 animated/puppetry classic, "The Dark Crystal", "...Rotten...".

Is this "...rotten..." an actual word, or an acronym which can destroy any mind which tries to decode it?

Its just what the villainous big black bird said after it sniffed at one the little black birds from a serving platter at the table and threw it over its shoulder to impact with the wall behind with a 'thunk' and fall to floor with a 'thud', whereupon the little black bird opened its eyes (perhaps somewhat stunned) with a new awareness. [From an actual scene of the 1982 animated/puppetry classic, "The Dark Crystal"]
I was personally very taken with the aloenemonies from the film. I wish I had some for my garden.
