Bah. I Should Be At That Comics Convention
Afgncaap5 Started conversation Jul 22, 2006
I should've requested a booth at the San Diego Comic Con.
Yes, I know it would've cost more than an actual ticket. But if I had a booth, then I'd have an excuse to go there, you see. I could've seen the Nintendo Booth, the DC Comics Booth, the Blank Label Comics and Keenspot booths, a booth for a guy who does voices on Futurama, the Ninja Turtles booth,....lots of booths.
I'm missing out on the booth seeing. And it's uncool.
Next year, I need to get my own booth. And I'll be like, "Hey, come look at me!"
And people will.
I need to prepare lots and lots of merchandise, though. As I don't provide Internet content (or content of any kind, really), merchandise may be difficult. If only I had some product, or slogan that I could slap onto some T-Shirts or Calendars.
....wait.
Next year, come see the "Crater Labs, Inc." booth at the SanDiego Comic Con! Featuring Affy Person, and....and friends! Get the "Explosions Build Character" shirt, and the Ampton plushie! Come on, I'll treat you to a box of Infern-O's.

But will Hyp be available to stand outside the booth waving pom-poms?

Not if it's in San Diego. I don't do earthquake zones.

Bagpuss Posted Jul 23, 2006
I don't think they've had an earthquake at the convention yet.

Hypatia Posted Jul 23, 2006
That means one is due any time then. Can't be too careful, you know.

Bagpuss Posted Jul 23, 2006
So if they have one, will you go then, because the danger would be past?

Afgncaap5 Posted Jul 24, 2006
That is, after all, the logical conclusion.

Not necessarily. You can't really trust earthquakes. They like to lull you into a false sense of security, then Whammo!
If I do London in the spring, I won't be able to afford another vacation that soon. And I've misplaced my pom poms.

Ah well. Can you find another cheerleader, Affy? I rather like the idea of an "Explosions Build Character" t-shirt.

Arrrr, I could wave me sword for ye! And if that didn't work, I could use me sword to round up a crowd - like a sheep dog with sheep. Har har har! I'd be wantin' some booty for it, mind ye. I'm partial to gold, matey.

A free piece of merchandise and anything you can steal from the convention goers is about all I could offer, I'm afraid.
I should just hold my own convention in Indiana. Not as many people are afraid of Indiana Tornados as they are of California Earthquakes.

California hasn't had a significant earthquake in more than 10 years. I know. I live there. Don't listen to the hype. They've been predicting a civilization-ending quake since the.... 1940s? when the San Francisco one hit. They're about as accurate as throwing darts blind.
Affy, I'm totally there if you have a Crater Labs booth at the ComiCon. I thought about going this year, but I already had my vacation planned.

Well, I'll see. The problem with a booth at a ComiCon, whether in New York or in SanDiego, is that I'd have to figure out how to make enough money to cover my booth costs, and my trip there and back.
New York would be the cheaper trip if I assume the booth costs to be the same. Which, with my luck, it won't be.
